Projects
At Drama In Mind CIC, our projects put drama and emotional wellbeing at the heart of creative expression. Within our longer-term projects, lasting a minimum of six weeks or more, we draw on diverse art forms, physical activity, and open discussion to support young people’s growth. Through play, performance, and teamwork, each project explores real-life issues, builds confidence, and gives young people a powerful platform to share their experiences and voices over a longer period of time; this allows for deeper impact, engagement and understanding of the participants.

Lines & Layups
Where Basketball Meets Drama
Funded by Active Essex, this Autumn 2025, we are launching a brand new opportunity!
A joint project, with BBall Fundamentalz, Lines & Layups brings together basketball and drama to create an exciting space for young people to grow, express themselves, and connect.
On the court, participants will learn new basketball skills, build teamwork, and boost fitness. Off the court, drama workshops provide a safe space to explore real-life issues such as peer pressure, toxic relationships, county lines, body image, emotional wellbeing, youth exploitation, life in care, neurodiversity, and more.
Through play, performance, and discussion, young people will:
-
Build confidence, resilience, and self-expression
-
Strengthen communication and teamwork skills
-
Gain mentoring, signposting, and community support
-
Explore strategies for everyday challenges through drama techniques
-
Work towards a final live performance for the community
-
Outcomes include: improved confidence and emotional wellbeing, stronger relationships, transferable life skills, enhanced public speaking, and creative expression — all while staying active, connected, and inspired.
Play the game. Share your story. Take the stage.

Signature
-
‘Drama In Mind’ Signature is our original workshop plan that uses drama/improvisation to encourage children and young people to explore their emotions to enable them to face daily challenges and overcome obstacles in their everyday life.
-
Covering emotions such as anger, shame, fear, social media envy, contentment – each workshop explores scenarios and develops scenes highlighting the emotion whilst encouraging debate and developing strategies to build individual confidence.
-
Throughout this process, our aim is for beneficiaries to build relationships with a sense of trust, for them to gain more social awareness, whilst developing their own understanding of themselves and their emotions.
-
Workshops can be delivered during term time as part of a PHSE curriculum, as an after school provision or as a school holiday club.
-
Our sessions are inclusive, with professional trained actors and SEN specialists to support additional needs of the children and young people we work with.
