About Us

Drama In Mind CIC (Community Interest Company) is a collective of passionate individuals who believe in the power of drama to help young people thrive. We are dedicated to supporting children, young people and wider communities to  explore their emotional wellbeing in creative, meaningful ways. Through engaging, drama-based workshops, we create safe spaces where participants can express themselves, build confidence, and develop emotional resilience.

Our journey began and still continues today with Drama in Mind 'Signature' - a workshop designed for children and young people aged 8 to 16 years to explore their emotional wellbeing on issues they may face on a daily basis (e.g. anger, shame, fear, bullying). Using the imaginative power of drama, these workshops were the starting point, to provide valuable learning opportunities for your children, allowing them to express themselves creatively whilst embracing a new, positive perspective or even changing their mindset on an issue that they face.

Each workshop focuses on an issue that challenges the child to think things through from a different angle and then create a sketch to present to the rest of the group. This not only increases confidence in each child but also encourages relationship building skills.

Our work has expanded over the years, offering various other creative ways to support children, young people and adults to explore their emotional wellbeing in a creative, energetic, inspirational way.

Our Vision

Drama In Mind is also a provider of arts education for children of all ages. We are committed to widening participation in the arts and believe that every child should have the opportunity to participate in high quality arts education with a gifted, passionate and highly trained professional.

To build confidence, unlock emotions, unleash creativity in every child. Our workshops promote the opportunity for children and young people to take time to really think about how they manage their emotions.

Lucille – Founder, CEO & Creative Director of Drama In Mind

With over 28 years experience of working with children and young people within an educational, theatrical and residential social care setting, Lucille created ‘DRAMA IN MIND’ out of her passion to see children supported in their ongoing emotional health and wellbeing, using drama as a tool of expression

Originally from east London, Lucille began her career as a professional actress. After training with the NYMT (National Youth Music Theatre) she went on to gain her first Equity contract and continued working in television appearing on programmes such as  HOLBY CITY, THE BILL and various other film and TV productions. She has worked in numerous theatre production companies (such as NITRO THEATRE) and worked on BBC WORLD SERVICE, as well as featuring in television commercials, voice overs and music videos.

Louis - Professional Actor/Arts Award Adviser

At 16, Louis was a member of the National Youth Theatre, and later graduated from Warwick University, with a First Class degree in 2021, and has been acting professionally since 2018. He has performed in theatre, short films, and in a feature film ("Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning"). He has studied various forms of theatre, and performance pieces and styles from many different periods of history.

He has a strong wish to give children with few opportunities to encounter the creative industries a chance to explore, experiment, and create art they can feel pride in. He combines his experiences in stagecraft, physical theatre, and camera work, with a degree in literature, to give children the chance to experience as wide a range of artistic and creative choices as possible, whether they are introverted or extraverted, comfortable with being creative, or total beginners. His main hope is that children finish workshops with a foundation for a lifelong appreciation of, and interest in, creativity - and with the confidence to feel that they can pursue this interest however they feel an urge to as they grow up.
